86 Lincoln Town Car burning oil after replacing the valve cover gaskets. I have no idea what else it could?

Could a bad pcv valve have anything to do with this?86 Lincoln Town Car burning oil after replacing the valve cover gaskets. I have no idea what else it could?
i would say recheck the valve cover gaskets...just clean the topside of the motor one day, clean it all up, start the engine, and watch for the leak...86 Lincoln Town Car burning oil after replacing the valve cover gaskets. I have no idea what else it could?
i am assuming you mean its burning oil off the block and not burning internally if this is the case then you guessed right to change the gaskets but if it still doing the same thing it should be easy to trace where the oil is coming out at. Check the new gaskets the bolt pattern on the valve covers are terrible for those cars make sure its not still leaking from there. I never seen much oil escape from the PCV but i guess its possible and then check the oil sending unit which i believe is toward the back of the block.
There is a screen cartrige under the PCV valve that is most likley stopped up. Remove it with a long drywall screw and a pair of pliers. Clean it with carb cleaner or just replace it with the valve, they're cheap.
If your PCV valve is bad your valve covers should be leaking, anyway a new PCV valve shouldn't cost more than $4.
