Is expensive car oil worth it?

I use regular pennzoil, but is pennzoil platium worth extra money? It's 70% more expensive.Is expensive car oil worth it?
yes assuming its a synthetic you don't have to get oil changes as often with a synthetic and you may notice that the oil stays cleaner it dint break down into carbon which is bad for your carIs expensive car oil worth it?
I've used regular old penzoil 10-40 all my life, don't see the need to fix something that ain't broke. I'm stuck in using what works. Once I find something good, I'm never eager to change.
Pennzoil Platinum is a synthetic oil. It can last much longer between changes. If you change your oil every 3,000 miles then it's not worth it.
Use castrol or valoline they are both good oils and are cheap.

my opinion...no, reason being, I have a 96' s10 that is a daily driver. It runs perfect. I have never used anything but the ';Wal-Mart'; brand oil in it, and that goes for all of my vehicles. Have a nice day.
The only oil I think is worth it is either full synthetic are blended synthetic. Anything else wouldn't be much of an upgrade.
The difference of if it is worth it or not , is weither it is conventional or synthetic oil .Those are the main differences synthic is much better for the engine to prolong preforamance and engine life, and reduces engine wear.Conventional is fine, will not harm the engine but , syntheic has been proven to be better in the long run.
It really starts with what are you doing with the car. If you're trading in a few years and not driving over 50,000 miles/year, it shouldn't matter if you are using a synthetic or traditional oil - you won't be keeping the car long enough to appreciate the extra life the engine might achieve. I normally run my cars to higher mileage. My Jeep has 244,000 miles and I've been running Mobil's traditional oil at the recommended weight. If you drive your car hard every day, you may need to have synthetic to make the engine hold up under the duress of hard driving. Keep changing the filter and oil every 3-5,000 miles and you should have good results in a quality car. (not every car engine is designed to hold up to over 100,000 miles of use)
Any oil is better that Pennzoil! I had two engine failures with it.

That really depends on you. If you drive the car like any other sane individual and perform all the regular maintenance to a ';T'; in the manual, then any synthetic oil will be fine as long as you do them regularly. If you drive like a bat out of hell and race whenever you get a chance like me, then you do your oil/filter changes every 3000miles MAX and you only use the highest grade synthetic oils like Royal Purple, Redline, Eneos...etc. Hope that helps to answer your question!

You will have to save $10 on the road, and with current gas prices at $3 you must have a performance benifit of 75'ish miles (If your car has a MPG rating of 20)
