HOA is fining me for oil stains but I don't know what to use. Please help ASAP. ThanksWhat can I use to remove car oil stains from driveway and street? Please help HOA is fining me.?
I had stains from my car leaking. The way I got rid of them is by using something called a Hand Cleaner, the one that mechanics use, you can find this at Canadian Tire or any automotive section. It's not expensive at all. I drop some directly on the stain and scrub with a strong bristle brush, a metal brush is also good. Then I use Tide. Just add a small amount and again scrub with the brush. This will remove the oil stain. If you have a pressure washer, you can use it for an over all wash at the end. But each oil spot must be done first. What can I use to remove car oil stains from driveway and street? Please help HOA is fining me.?

I am sure that you can get your answers in this website.
Good Luck and Best Wishes!
Try drying it first by using some sawdust or kitty litter then if you go to home depot they'll be able to tell you exactly what you can use to get rid of that stain. If that doesn't work, the only option would be to either have it pressure washed (steam cleaned) or to paint the driveway. Good luck!
First of all fix the leak or if you are a mechanic please use a drip pan. Then consider using kitty litter.
Pour the cat litter on the stain and rub it into the stain. Sweep up the litter and repeat as necessary. The litter will absorb the oil. After using the litter power wash the area or use concrete cleanser to get rid of the stain.
I buy concrete cleaner at Home Depot. Works great. So does pressure washing after.
super clean by Castrol
try kitty litter or sawdust first
If you still have oil spills left on there, first soak it up by pouring some cat litter on them and then rent a Pressure washer from home depot or somewhere and use a heavy duety degreaser liquid in it to blast them away. That should take care of it...promise.:o)
There is a great product you can get at Home Depot or Lowe's, but the name escapes me right now. Ask a sales clerk and they should be able to steer you in the right direction. Works real good
A product called MelaMagic - it comes from a very reputable internet/catalog company and works extremely well without harming the environment. Also comes with a 100% empty bottle guarantee. Visit www.saferforyourhome.com then email me at devlsinc@yahoo.ca for info on how to purchase from this store
You can use dawn dish soap, or spray and wash , brush on let sit for 15 minutes and rinse with cool water. Hope this works for you it worked for me. Karen in MO.
leos 1964 is right but fix the leak or your wasting your time.
There is a product that they sell at home depot, walmart, etc. It is specially made to soak up oil from concrete, and comes in a bucket and looks very similar to kitty litter. We have used it on our driveway for small oil leaks, etc. and in the garage. It is a powder and you only need a little. It will soak most of it up, and then you just dispose of it properly. Also, you can go out with a toothbrush (that no one is going to use) and a bottle of dawn dishwashing liquid, and pour dawn on it, and then rub it in with the toothbrush. Let it set for a few hours and then rinse it off with the hose. It wont get every bit of it up, and it doesnt work quite as well as the powder, but it will make a difference.
