what kind of oil did you put maybe you put an oil that was to thin and your engine needs thicker ..
Something just doesn't seem to add up here....
Save the filthy oil filter until this is resolved..

might have sludge build up in the port holes where the oil comes up into the heads try removing the valve covers and cleaning it out if that doesnt work then have the engine flushed your knocking is coming form the lifters not getting any oil
check your dipstick (jim) if low add oil 10w 30w
did u use the right oil. if u used a lower viscosity then that could be your problem.
