that age of car it wont bother having thicker oil in itFor my car oil can i use 10w 40 instead of the oil i suppose to lose for the car which is 5 w 30 i have a?
I usually run a little heavier oil in summer and lighter in winter but either will work fine.
A heavy weight oil will benefit your older car.

If you live in a southern states were it gets hot in the summer months, I recommend a 10w50 oil...
you wouldnt have to use the 10w40. i have a 88 olds and i use 10w30 all the time, but if you want to use the 10w40, it wont hurt it.
