What happens when you overfill your car with oil?

My car was throwing white smoke from the tali pipe and i was told it was becouse i over filled it with oil. Is that true? what can I do about it?What happens when you overfill your car with oil?
Damage to catalytic converter, in anything moderately new, possibly the O2 sensor as well. What happens when you overfill your car with oil?
First of all check the oil, Is it in fact over full?Over filling of engine oil does not increase oil preassure at all.A quart over full will do no harm to your engine, If your car is smoking white It sounds like there is coolant entering the combustion chamber , may be a head gasket, or a cracked head, cheak your coolant level to see that it is full, and staying full, if it is not then you have a problem
If it's too full the crankshaft will ';beat'; the oil and make it froth, the pump can't pump frothed oil so your engine wil be running on nothing. It will damge the bearings.

Check the dipstick, if its too full, you need to drain some the same way you would change it. If you aren't familiar with changing your oil go to a quick change place, they can drain some for you, although they may require you to do an entire change.
It can cause too much pressure on the seals, and makes the crankshaft not turn as it should. Overall it is not good. White smoke is normally coolant being burned. If that is the case you have a head gasket that is blown.
Yes, the oil pressure was too high and it was seaping around the rings. Drain the oil and refill it exactly with the amount the owners manual says to. It's possible you have done more damage that it would seem.
the spark plug will go fast
