How do I get car oil out of carpet?

Ok so my mom came home from shopping last night and she didnt notice that she tracked oil on her shoe from the parking lot so now theres oil marks all over the house. Shes pretty upset because the carpet it fairly light and you can see it and she likes to have a clean house for when people come over so my question is, is there any tricks or products to getting car oil out of carpet so it wont stain?How do I get car oil out of carpet?

Here is a site that I would highly recommend. They have very high quality stain removal techniques. The site has a drop down list of stains, but it also has ways to make your own solution. I would suggest repeating the process after the first application, and rinsing the rug out with cool water in between applications. Best of luck!
Get some GOO GONE, it's made from Citrus, it removes stickers, grease, gum, tar, crayon, tape and lost of other things and it won't hurt the carpet. You can get this at Wal-Mart, hardware stores and even in some grocery stores.

The Dawn is your best bet, but blot with the soapy water. Do not rub or you will make the stains larger.
