How do you get car oil out of jeans?

Knelt in a puddle of oil in my garage. Tried using carb cleaner thinking it might work and it did but not as well as I'd hoped. Any suggestions. I've washed them twice but haven't dried them in the dryer.How do you get car oil out of jeans?
Apply some Dawn dish liquid directly on the stains.:)How do you get car oil out of jeans?
i would say spary the stain with shout or spray and wash then soak in tide and wash again .
try ';lestoil,or purple power';
Use some of the orange cleaner that mechanics use. Just wet the cloth a little till it is wet and then use the orange hand cleaner that mechanics use and rub it in lightly to the spot then wipe with clean water to resolve the spot. You will notice that the hand cleaner will fade away. So do it a couple of times just not a whole lot. Then put in washing machine and wash, because the hand cleaner has amazing chemicals in it that will still work untill you wash it with a soap.

Good Luck!
Greased lightning... in the cleaning, detergent Isle in any grocery store, etc...

spray it all over the area and wash with your detergent, it works.....
When I get an oily stain from food on clothing, I usually apply straight vegetable or olive oil on the stain and rub it in well. Then I apply Dawn original dish soap liberally to the stain and use a little water to scrub this deeply into the fabric. Then I just place it in the washer and wash as usual. I usually air dry the fabric instead of using the dryer in case the stain is not completely gone because this can ';set'; the stain for life. If the stain is still visible then I repeat the same steps of applying the oil and then Dawn and then wash. On rare occasions this does not work but normally it does. I don't know if this will work on motor oil but I have seen many reports that Dawn is used to clean the animals caught in the oil slicks from oil spills in the ocean. Also was recommended by the vet when my cat jumped into the waste oil pan before it could be disposed.

Good luck!!!
Rub some 'Dawn' dish liquid (the original blue one) onto the spot and wash. If it's soaked in rub on both sides of the jeans. Dawn cuts greasy/oily anything. I oncetold a bus driver to use 'Dawn' and he came back to tell me that IT Worked! He scrubbed it into his work shirts with a tooth brush.
Use some dish soap or rub some GOOP on it before you throw em in the wash.
You might try an essential oil. Like lavender or orange. I've had success with that, and it smells good too. Remember like removes like. So you want to use an oil based product to remove oil. You were on the right track with the carb cleaner. Good luck!
Put lemon juice on the oil stain and then sprinkle cream of tartar onto the top of the juice. Pat it in with your finger and let it sit on the stain until the stain is gone. The citric acid will take the stain right away. Some stains are tougher than others, but 15-30 minutes should work just find. Then wash your jeans just as you usual would......

Lemon juice contains ascorbic acid (vitamin C). Ascorbic acid is an active reducing agent (as opposed to an oxidizing agent).
